Vertical Neighbors@ The Wilshire

An open book

Vertical Neighbors is run by your neighbors, for your neighbors. There are no closed meetings, no hidden budgets, no politics. This page exists so everything we do is visible to anyone who wants to look.

Who runs this

A small, informal group of resident volunteers. There is no president, no board, no chairperson — just a few people who like hosting things and care about the building's social life.

If you'd like to help organize an event, come to the next event and introduce yourself. New organizers are always welcome.

How decisions get made

Anyone organizing an event decides the details for that event — date, format, food, drinks, budget. There is no committee approving anything. If you want to host a coffee meetup or a wine night, you can; we'll help spread the word.

How events are funded

Funding is event-by-event. Depending on the event, that might look like:

Each event's RSVP page tells you the funding model up front. There are no ongoing dues.

Our relationship with the building

Vertical Neighbors is independent of building management. We are not part of any governance structure or association. We don't speak on behalf of residents on building matters, we don't handle complaints, and we don't influence operations.

We're simply residents who like our neighbors and want to make it easier for everyone to feel at home here.

Privacy

When you RSVP, we collect your name, unit number, and any notes you share. This information is visible only to the organizer of that event, and only used to plan it.

For troubleshooting and to prevent spam, we also log limited technical information with each RSVP: a hashed (anonymized) version of your IP address, your browser type, whether you're on mobile or desktop, and the page you came from. We never store your raw IP address. We never sell, share, or use this data for advertising.

We don't maintain a mailing list, we don't share resident information with anyone, and we don't keep RSVP data after an event ends beyond what's useful for planning future events.

Questions or feedback

Have a suggestion, concern, or want to help out? The easiest way is to introduce yourself at the next event. Otherwise, look for an organizer in the building — we'd love to hear from you.
